Hi people,
How y'all doing? I am quite surprised that these discusions aren't going any way forward any longer and i began to ask myself questions like... do we need more people? or are we too busy that we do not have time to post our wonderful ideas that could mean alot to people out there? and so on.....?
Well i have decided to initiate discusions as we go on with understanding the problems and the challenges ahead of us.... most people have been able to contribute and say something that i think we should really worry about in the fight..
Trent said " HIV/AIDS not just an African problem"
Bose said"Here in Africa there is a high rate of people dying everyday from HIV/AIDS. But in Nigeria here, there is a big problem. People are really ignorant of a lot of facts concerning the disease and more also people do not like talking about them. A country whereby sex education or talk about sex is forbidden as a thing of open"
Saratu said "Does AIESEC want to be just another one? Or do we want to do more than that? How much learning around the issue to we have to affect others? How do we make a difference as a global organisation, how do we get our members to understand the gravity of the virus?"
Reflecting on the opinions and the views of these people, i can see some similarities and what they are all saying specifically is that " HIV/AIDs is a global epidemic, and since most people do not like talking about it or probably ignorant although we have a lot of organizations working on the issue, we as AIESECers should look at this problem from a different perspective and act in a different way, afterall we are a unique group of individuals"
I think at this point, we should be talking about the ways and what AIESEC can do to look at this problem in a different way. Maybe from our ideas we will be able to see something and i am sure we will find a great opinions on how AIESEC as an organization could act in a different and more efficient way about the problem...
I look forward to read from you guys, your opinions really matter...
thanks
D!
