Nice one bibi!!!

Hello all,

Hey bibi, thanks for your contribution...so i guess the next step is to figure out how to start working together.. Here in the US, Leslie is working on grants and stuffs because it will be easy to send students when we have grants. Furthermore i think we will probably need some recommendations from NGO's and organizations that are working on Genesis at the moment, i think that might help as well. If you have any Contacts of NGO's, pls lets know about it and see possible ways of getting a recommendation letter for our grants hunt.

So also i think we also need to start working on ways to work together on PBoxes...

Anyways i hope y'all doing fine and we will here from you guys soon

thanks

NEXT MOVE

Nice one there Dotun. That is very good. Well taking into considerations that we have all viewed our thoughts and opinions concerning this issue of HIV/AIDS.
As AIESECERS and knowing fully well that our corework is Exchange, the way out here to really utilise our potentials and to put the organisation at the fore front of fighting this epidemic is to Create PBOXes (project Based on Xchane) .
These PBOXes will work hand-in-hand with other NGOs in the country where they are going. We should bear in mind that the NGOs have already existed, but the work of AIESC is to create that real distinct difference that stands us out from other individuals.

I think we should start strategizing on what next we are going to do concerning that. LCs to be worked with, countries that will be allowed to participate in the PBOXes and how grants will be raised.

What do u think people................. Pls shoot the replies this way and lets move forward.

Trent was up? Not too tires I hope ....Sere was pumping..?........Segun how far now?....Give us the latest from WHO...Leslie how far with the grant Stuff? ................ Dotun... how far with ur end over there......lets all move to the next agenda....

The Way Forward

Hi people,

How y'all doing? I am quite surprised that these discusions aren't going any way forward any longer and i began to ask myself questions like... do we need more people? or are we too busy that we do not have time to post our wonderful ideas that could mean alot to people out there? and so on.....?

Well i have decided to initiate discusions as we go on with understanding the problems and the challenges ahead of us.... most people have been able to contribute and say something that i think we should really worry about in the fight..

Trent said " HIV/AIDS not just an African problem"

Bose said"Here in Africa there is a high rate of people dying everyday from HIV/AIDS. But in Nigeria here, there is a big problem. People are really ignorant of a lot of facts concerning the disease and more also people do not like talking about them. A country whereby sex education or talk about sex is forbidden as a thing of open"

Saratu said "Does AIESEC want to be just another one? Or do we want to do more than that? How much learning around the issue to we have to affect others? How do we make a difference as a global organisation, how do we get our members to understand the gravity of the virus?"

Reflecting on the opinions and the views of these people, i can see some similarities and what they are all saying specifically is that " HIV/AIDs is a global epidemic, and since most people do not like talking about it or probably ignorant although we have a lot of organizations working on the issue, we as AIESECers should look at this problem from a different perspective and act in a different way, afterall we are a unique group of individuals"

I think at this point, we should be talking about the ways and what AIESEC can do to look at this problem in a different way. Maybe from our ideas we will be able to see something and i am sure we will find a great opinions on how AIESEC as an organization could act in a different and more efficient way about the problem...

I look forward to read from you guys, your opinions really matter...

thanks

The Voyage

The future belongs to those who prepare for it....

Hi Peeps!!! My name is Dotun Ikugbagbe and i am from AIESEC US Exchange Support Team and a member of AIESEC Benedictine... I have been in AIESEC for about 4 years and have been actively involved in AIESEC Nigeria, AIESEC Nottingham UK, and AIESEC Queens, Canada.

I am interested in the Genesis program because of the reality in the world today. HIV/AIDS is very important and as been the integral part of so many peoples' live that they need help from people like us to reach to the world and change something. I believe if there is something worth doing at all, its the contributions that we make and how we go about fighting the epidemic that is taking lives rapidly that any other thing in human history.

I am working on the Genesis program for AIESEC US and trying to create partnership with other countries to send our SNs and interested students abroad to learn and help in the awareness of the HIV/AIDs....

I join the genesis contributors because i believe in the change that we can make and how much we can achieve through this blog...I look forward to read more from everyone and meet y'll maybe someday..

thanks Trent for the initiative
